"Year One": well, maybe it is stupid but anyway - watch it!

Yes, yes, I know what you will say. "If it is a stupid film why should we watch it?" or something like that. Maybe you are right. Frankly speaking, I had the same thought when the friend of mine invited me to watch this film with him. I read the description, watched the trailer and said: "Oh, no! Thank you! I like comedies of course but this one is strange and stupid". Nevertheless, my friend insisted. He was just bored and had nothing to do. And I gave up.

What can I say? It should be watched once to know why critics were so negative about it. It should be watched once if you want to watch something non-serious and relaxed. It should be watched once if you want to sleep and need a soporific. And it should be watched once if your friend begs you to watch something with him (her) but does not have anything except this film. Enjoy!

"When a couple of lazy hunter-gatherers (Black and Cera) are banished from their primitive village, they set off on an epic journey through the ancient world".

P.S. I wanted to introduce you the official trailer of "Year One" but Bogger has some problems today with adding video. *sad*. Anyway, you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTNBwIAY9Zo

What would be your best comedy film?

I’ve found the list of 100 greatest comedy movies. And you know what? The comedies of the 21st century are almost absent there! Why is it so? There are only 5 comedies of the 21st century in this list:

38. Borat - (2006) (Sacha Baron Cohen, Ken Davitian)

52. Meet the Parents - (2000) (Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller)

63. Little Miss Sunshine - (2006) (Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin, Steve Carell)

66. Scary Movie - (2000) (Keenen Ivory Wayans, Anna Faris, Shawn Wayans)

83. The 40 Year Old Virgin - (2005) (Steve Carell, Catherine Keener)

How do you think what is the reason of it? Have we lost the sense of humour? Or is anything left for us to laugh at?

Please, pay attention that the 1st place of this list was won by the film of 1933! Here it is: Duck Soup! (see the picture above).

Well, each decade has its humour. I do not think I would laugh at this film now.
And what would be YOUR best comedy film if you made such a list by yourself?

Zombieland: a comedy or a horror??

Have you watched the new film of 2009 already? It is called "Zombieland" and it is considered to be American zombie comedy horror film. Comedy and horror together?? Hm... I think it is really stupid. But you know, this film has already become so popular and so many people like it very much. They laugh at this film. And laugh A LOT!!

You know, my strong opinion is the following: this film is so popular because of Bill Murray's presence there. But you know, one actor (even so famous one) is not enough to make a movie one of the best comedies. Moreover, this film is not funny and not scary. It is stupid!

The rating of this film is 8.3/10 according to IMDb!! Wow!

You know, I completely understand the following phrase now: the more stupid are jokes - the better is the film for the audience.

There are some jokes form the film:

1. Columbus: Fuck this clown

2. Wichita: Let's play the quiet game.

Columbus: I've actually been meaning to ask you...

Wichita: Have you never played the quiet game?

3. Little Rock: [as he is dying] Do you have any regrets?

Bill Murray: Maybe Garfield.

Are they really funny for you?

“Night at the Museum 2”: it would be better if it did not exist!

"Everything comes to life"
To begin with, I should say that the trailer of the film seemed to be more interesting for me than the film itself actually was. It happens very often that after a successful first part of the film the second, third and etc. parts follow. But as practice shows, it does not always work and many viewers are disappointed after watching the continuation though there are some exceptions of course. Unfortunately "Night at the Museum 2" is not an exception.
The first 20 minutes of the film were so boring that I thought: “when all the fun moments that I saw in the trailer will take place?” But I did not find them. The movie was pretty boring. I kept looking at my watch, thinking about when it's over. Certainly, this film is a family one, preferably or kids.
Ben Stiller has not surprised me with anything new. Although I expected much more from him, he has not met my expectations. And I can say that this is not the first film with Stiller when he did not meet my expectations.
Amy Adams is another story. I can not say anything about the others, but her heroine irritated me very much. She was too intrusive. It was really annoying. My positive impressions are only about the three heroes of this film: Ivan the Terrible, Napoleon, Al Capone. They maintained the atmosphere of humor in the film, especially the scene with the hero of the movie "Star Wars".
So, my rating for “Night at the Museum 2” will be 3 out of 10 (though IMDb gives it 6 out of 10). What are your thoughts?
